June 12, 2009, Newsletter Issue #196: Staying Safe During Spray Tanning Sessions

Tip of the Week

Although studies so far have shown spray tanning to be safe, you should still maximize your safety while participating in a session in a spray tanning booth. DHA has been approved by the FDA as safe for the skin, but that doesn't mean it is safe for the eyes or to be inhaled. Always keep your eyes closed during your session, and hold your breath, trying your best not to inhale. You can ask for, or bring your own, nose plugs, goggles, and lip balm.
