November 14, 2008, Newsletter Issue #167: Interval Between Tanning Sessions

Tip of the Week

As with the question, "How long should I tan?" there is no pat answer regarding how long to wait between tanning sessions. It all depends on your skin type, how long (as in, how many weeks or months) you've been tanning, and what type of indoor tanning bed or booth you are using. It can take up to 24 hours for your skin to react to UVA and UVB exposure. Generally speaking, it's best to wait at least 48 hours between sessions. And you definitely don't want to tan more than once a day, no matter how badly you want to achieve that golden glow. Slow and steady will produce the best results. Consult with a tanning salon attendant or your owner's manual for more information on how long you should wait between tanning sessions.
